We recommend that you consider having your own "domain". The domain is the part of your email address that comes after the @ symbol.
Domains end with .com or .co.uk or a host of other choices. They are easy and inexpensive to buy; normally you pay for a year or two and will be informed when it needs renewing. Once you have a domain and provided you renew when told to do so, the domain is entirely yours and will remain unique to you or your company.
In the same way that Internet Service Providers may lead you to believe that your email should be tied to your ISP, email service providers may similarly lead you to believe that owning your domain must be sold and managed by your email service provider. Again, this is not so, you can own and manage your domain, independently of the email service you use. Often it may be easier to use the same provider for both, but it isn't necessary. You can for example update your domain (DNS) records to direct emails to whichever email service provider you choose and may decide to change from time to time - no need to change your domain or the email address people contact you by.
